Dr Paul Mueller

Dr Paul Mueller was thrilled to join the team at Dentista Dental and move up to Perth with his wife and dog, Kozi. Dr Paul is dedicated to providing the best quality dental care to his patients and aims to deliver comprehensive treatment as a priority. Recognising that a dental visit is often daunting, Dr Paul Mueller ensures that he takes the time to listen and understand each patient’s individual needs, and aims to make everyone’s experience at the dentist a welcoming one.

 

Dr Paul prides himself on evidence-based practice and believes prevention is always better than a cure, working with his patients to optimise their long-term oral health. To achieve this, Dr Paul takes every opportunity to stay up-to-date by regularly attending dental conferences and courses. Dr Paul also has a keen interest in Root Canal Treatment and Oral Medicine, with experience in management of obstructive sleep apnoea and disorders of the jaw joint.

Following graduation from La Trobe University in Bendigo BHSc MDent (Bachelor of Health Sciences in Dentistry/Master of Dentistry), Dr Paul went on to complete the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons (Primaries). Education wise, Dr Paul has won the La Trobe University Dental School Fifth Year Prize from the Australian Dental Association, the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons Prize, the Colgate-Palmolive Academic Award in Dentistry and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Pediatric Dentistry Louise Brearley Messer Literature Review Competition Winner.

 

During his working career, Dr Paul worked alongside A/Prof Michael Stubbs (Oral Medicine Specialist) in treatment of temporomandibular disorders (jaw joint and surrounding muscles) and sleep disordered breathing, and supported in the management of complex cases of orofacial pain and oral mucosal diseases. Dr Paul additionally worked within private dental practice in Melbourne in a practice with a strong focus on aesthetic and definitive phase treatment, and fixed prosthodontics. Over the last 2 years he has been practicing at a private dental practice in Ballarat, developing and enhancing his operative skills, treatment planning, and communication across the breadth of general family based practice.

 

When not busy with teeth, Paul loves getting out and about, and enjoys running, hiking and camping. He's often found in the park chasing down a not-so-white West Highland Terrier. Paul's also known to love a good feed, so is always keen to hear about hidden restaurant and café gems in the area.
